El Avila National Park (Waraira Repano, the indigenous name) belongs to the Cordillera de la Costa and Pico Naiguata is the tallest mountain range with 2765 meters above sea level. El Avila is located along the central section of the Cordillera de la Costa mountain system in the coastal region of central-northern Venezuela. El Avila serves as a recreational area and as a buffer to pollution for Caracas city in Venezuela.
