    • One way my workplace incorporates current events into our workplace is by using a Linked In Account. We all (I work for a small company) collaborated in creating this account and we post current events that apply to our work on the page for our followers and each other to read. It is a fun way to incorporate some social media into the workplace. We do not get to go outside and work, which sometimes could be fun because we have an amazing waterfront view of the St. Johns River! However, we do a lot of team building type lunch meetings where we all go out to a restaurant or order in and sometimes we walk to restaurants nearby, which is a great way to get some fresh air enjoy each others company!

      • A previous employer I had used on-line classroom courses to keep us up to date on current events, as well as required courses that had to be completed for company compliance regulations. We also held weekly office meetings, and town hall meetings as needed for important information happening throughout the company. While I was with this company, we held an off-site team building event but we did not discuss business. Our time together was intended to be fun. We played various team building games and had good food served. The event was a chance to get to see a different side to our coworkers.

  2. Hello! I currently work at a residential care facility for the elderly and disabled. My workplace takes us outdoors through social media. They offer articles about mental illness and ways to make, not only us employees, but the community aware of the issue. Facebook is often used as a platform to educate and raise awareness of mental health. There we post pictures, videos, news articles and comments to facilitate learning.
