Photoblogging is becoming popular in face-to-face and online courses thanks to apps, tablets, and smartphones. We have expanded our outdoors learning curation of topics to Flipboard.
Outdoors workers are needed in many areas to keep and improve infrastructure in cities. This is an example of outdoors cleaning in cities. #CityManagement #WasteManagement
Discussion: Cities have employees or outsource these services. Find out how it is done in your community. What Sustainable Development Goals are covered with this kind of work? Share your findings. Add links or videos.

Another adventure in our quest for Sephardic heritage was to do a night walking tour in the narrow streets of the old Jewish Quarters of Sagunto.
Night tour of the Jewish quarter of Sagunto. After the assault on the Jewish quarter of Valencia in 1391, the Saguntine aljama took over from Valencia and became the most important of the Kingdom. (descubrevalencia.es)
Quiero Cultura is one of the tour operators that offer outdoors walking tours to historic and cultural places of Sagunto.
Tour included stops in several places to display slides to illustrate and complement the outdoors learning experience.
We crossed several arches and visited two medieval jewish cemeteries outside the Castle of Sagunto.
Tours are organized each Saturday during summer months and once a month the rest of the year.
Other night walking tours include visits to all churches, way of the cross, and cemeteries. Outdoors classrooms at night.
We continue finding new information about our #SemahDeValencia family and our Sephardic heritage.
Our students, curators, and collaborators are sharing outdoors activities with emphasis on specific learning topics. The topics are related to higher education courses also being taught this term.
Our first topic is the Environmental Management. The focus is sustainability, climate, food, lands, reducing human impact, etc. Other topics will be open based on current interest and news.
This is a report of our visit to the Center of Environmental Studies of Comunitat Valenciana in Spain.

Online discussion started in three different courses, Management of Information Systems, Strategic Management, and Leadership and Team Dynamics. All three courses had to answer the same questions but add an emphasis on technologies, strategies or leadership initiatives depending on the course. This combine activity can be replicated using TED Ed Lessons and students from different sections or courses. See instructions and a selection of responses below.
1. Watch video and extract potential business solutions and strategies based on emerging technologies.
2. Answer this discussion question: What are the pros or cons about moving out of big cities. How companies have to modify their strategies to offer their services and products to these new communities?
- Information Systems – What business information systems are useful to solve this situation?
- Strategic Management – What should be the vision of these companies?
- Leadership – How community leaders are influencing their citizens to adapt to new communities?
3. Post your initial response here in this forum and add at least 3 extra substantive comment to your classmate in three different days.
4. Go to TED Ed Lesson site (https://ed.ted.com/on/rGppNZUR) and paste your initial response in the discussion in the lesson. You will share your answer with other Fall 2017 courses and you will be able to read their responses. This is a combined discussion.
Outdoors Classrooms are being used in Management courses to bring abstract concepts to real life. Live flow charts, live World Wide Web, and crossing leadership words are some of the examples how to bring college students out-of-the-classroom.

Short Session Description (one line):
Integration of Global Outdoors Learning Blogs, TED Ed Lessons & Global Goals in Management Courses
Session Strand (use the “tag”): “2017HigherEd” “2017SDGs” “2017Teachers”
Full Session Description:
Global Outdoors Learning Blogs and TED Talks have been used with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to be added to topics in Management courses. Blogs posts and TED Ed Lessons have been created and integrated to Learning Management Systems (LMS) using the Global Learning Opportunities Building Engagement (GLOBE) model. GLOBE is an educational model created to facilitate global collaboration and creative learning methods inside and outside the classroom to enhance Management programs.
The objective is to:
1. Find Global Learning Opportunities that are useful to our courses or programs.
2. Building bridges by connecting speakers, presenters, adventurers, travelers, facilitators or influencers with Management courses (Global Management, Outdoors Leadership, Youth Leadership, City Management, Strategic Management, Technology Management).
3. Build Engagement by creating active and continuous collaboration using blogs posts and adding TED Ed lessons with TED talks related to specific Management topics and SDGs.
Presentation shows how learning blogs posts are organized in global categories by activities, topics, SDGs, and countries. It shows how to create TED Ed Lessons using relevant TED Talks and, it shows hot to integrate or embed these resources into LMS of Management Courses in order to enhance classrooms, online discussions, and outdoors learning experiences. GLOBE has been used in Business, Management, and Systems courses and can be used in any global learning area, program, or course. All current blogs posts, and TED Ed Lessons are free and available to use. New educators and collaborators are welcome to post in our global Outdoors University blog using the EasyPost form.

I have created a new TED ED lesson to be used in higher education courses. Our TEDxFSCJ Learning Adventures continue using this TED Talk in online discussions in Strategic Management, Information Systems, and Leadership courses.
Suburbs and rural areas are atracting a new generation of citizens who enjoy outdoors and the opportunity of exploring nature near their homes. New technologies are being used to provide services to these families. This TED Talk and TED Ed lesson give our students the opportunity to explore the future ouf our communities.
If you are thinking about country living take a look to this outdoors lesson.
Future tech will give you the benefits of city life anywhere | Julio Gil | TED@UPS
LESSON CREATED BY JOSE G. LEPERVANCHE USING VIDEO FROM TED YOUTUBE CHANNEL
Thinking about Country Living. Don’t believe predictions that say the future is trending towards city living. Urbanization is actually reaching the end of its cycle, says logistics expert Julio Gil, and soon more people will be choosing to live (and work) in the countryside, thanks to rapid advances in augmented reality, autonomous delivery, off-the-grid energy and other technologies.

What are the pros or cons about moving out of big cities? How companies have to modify their strategies to offer their services and products to these new communities?
These are the views from our window in our home office in North Florida. We can spot several fall leaves in our backyard forest. We live in Jacksonville, Florida, a city with many urban forests and urban parks. Productivity is great when you work and can explore your own forest during the breaks. There are many opportunities for outdoors learning.
The questions are: How close you are to products and services do you need? Where is the nearest hospital? What natural disasters can disrupt your life? How to prepare yourself for country living emergencies? Answers are coming.
