This is the GLOBE model we are using in Outdoors University blog to expand online courses beyond the textbooks. Global collaborators share their photos of outdoors activities that can be used in classes.

How to integrate Global Learning Opportunities Building Engagement (GLOBE)© educational model in online, on-ground, and outdoors learning. Model is used for multigenerational and multinational students using Device Oriented Learning. Youth leaders are the instant knowledge generation who are very familiar with TECHKnowledge.

Model includes Learning Management Systems, Sustainable Development Goals, Blogs, TED Ed Lessons, and Social Media Learning. The objective is to find global learning opportunities to make bridges between knowledge, technology and people building engagement using out-of-the-classroom ideas and outdoors classrooms. The University is Outdoors.

GLOBE model has been used in Global Business Management, Business Administration, and Management of Information Systems courses in Bachelors and Masters programs.

Management of Information Systems students host a live and online discussion about uses of Internet Technologies in corporate training and education.

TED Ed Lesson Update: Country Living and Future Technologies | Dr. Jose G. Lepervanche | TEDxFSCJ Learning Adventures

Online discussion started in three different courses, Management of Information Systems, Strategic Management, and Leadership and Team Dynamics. All three courses had to answer the same questions but add an emphasis on technologies, strategies or leadership initiatives depending on the course. This combine activity can be replicated using TED Ed Lessons and students from different sections or courses. See instructions and a selection of responses below.

1. Watch video and extract potential business solutions and strategies based on emerging technologies. 

2. Answer this discussion question: What are the pros or cons about moving out of big cities. How companies have to modify their strategies to offer their services and products to these new communities?

  • Information Systems – What business information systems are useful to solve this situation? 
  • Strategic Management – What should be the vision of these companies? 
  • Leadership – How community leaders are influencing their citizens to adapt to new communities? 

3. Post your initial response here in this forum and add at least 3 extra substantive comment to your classmate in three different days. 

4. Go to TED Ed Lesson site (https://ed.ted.com/on/rGppNZUR) and paste your initial response in the discussion in the lesson. You will share your answer with other Fall 2017 courses and you will be able to read their responses. This is a combined discussion. 

Outdoors Classrooms in Management Courses | Dr. Jose G. Lepervanche | FSCJ

Outdoors Classrooms are being used in Management courses to bring abstract concepts to real life. Live flow charts, live World Wide Web, and crossing leadership words are some of the examples how to bring college students out-of-the-classroom.
