Taroko National Park, in my opinion is the most scenic area in Taiwan; definitely one of the most scenic in the world. Over many years the Liwu river has cut a deep gorge through the spine of Taiwan’s central ridge of mountains. The Taiwanese cut, tunneled, bridged a spectacular cross country “highway” using this gorge producing one of the scenic wonders of the world. 226 men died in the process. A typhoon closed off the road several years ago and it has reopened but the path has been altered.
Some pics from Tomorrow’s Rainbow’s Hope Floats event yesterday. Thank you to the kayakers who volunteered to help in the paper boat parade.
