When the road continues on the other side…
You take a boat.
When you cross the boarder…
Bye bye Czech Republic, very close to Poland, hello Germany.
When the camp site where you were supposed to sleep is closed…
You continue till the next town.
When you count all that together, we did our longest etappe of the journey till now and went over the 50km on one day.
Going through the Bohemian Massif along the meandering Elbe, to the Elbe Sandstone Mountains in Saxon Switzerland.

#Xavieerle

” Almost every night we camp, in sunny times and through storms, our Green Castle is our little home. Can you imagine, to transport one huuuuge tent, 6 sleeping bags, and so on, and so on, on two bikes? Every year we’re proud we manage again and again.”

#Xavieerle #miniChips

“At the same time, we know we are very privileged, to enjoy camping and moving from one place to another, and calling it holidays. To have all the luxury we need, while thousands of people are on the road every day…not by choice, not for holidays…”

Night Walking Tour of Jewish Quarters of Sagunto | Dr. Jose G. Lepervanche | #semahdevalencia

Another adventure in our quest for Sephardic heritage was to do a night walking tour in the narrow streets of the old Jewish Quarters of Sagunto.

Night tour of the Jewish quarter of Sagunto. After the assault on the Jewish quarter of Valencia in 1391, the Saguntine aljama took over from Valencia and became the most important of the Kingdom. (descubrevalencia.es)

Quiero Cultura is one of the tour operators that offer outdoors walking tours to historic and cultural places of Sagunto.

Tour included stops in several places to display slides to illustrate and complement the outdoors learning experience.

We crossed several arches and visited two medieval jewish cemeteries outside the Castle of Sagunto.

Tours are organized each Saturday during summer months and once a month the rest of the year.

Other night walking tours include visits to all churches, way of the cross, and cemeteries. Outdoors classrooms at night.

We continue finding new information about our #SemahDeValencia family and our Sephardic heritage.

Problem-based learning (PBL) is integrated at Two Rivers Public Charter School in Washington, DC

Problem-based learning (PBL) is integrated at Two Rivers Public Charter School in Washington, DC, at every grade level—pre-K through eighth grade. Students are presented with a real-world problem, undertake a series of investigations, and create a product that they present to an authentic audience as part of the Expeditionary Learning (EL) Education framework.

PBL enables the school to reach all learners. “There are multiple entry points,” explains Julia Tomasko, a fourth-grade teacher. “It’s easy to scaffold [PBL] for students who need more support, and the sky’s the limit for extensions.”

Sparking Curiosity and Solving Real-World Problems | Edutopia

Because of science literacy, our students are active learners who ask questions. They have a sense of curiosity. They’re able to take that curiosity and go do something with it.

Teachers wanted to collaborate to blend expertise in content, so we developed the science literacy to give teachers time to collaborate with each other and with kids, to identify a problem and go out and figure out how to solve it.
